Set Your Minds On Things Above

I have a daily calendar with passages from Bob Goff’s book Love Does . This was my reminder at work last week. As I strive to complete my work projects, ensure my family is ‘ok’, confirm the bills are paid, google why my car has the check engine light on and try to see past the horizon of opportunities, this reminder focuses my mind in Jesus. In God’s grace. In God’s care. The things above are what really matter. The treasures in heaven are what will last. The transformation of my mind and character to be Christlike should be my focus, the relationships I build and the love I show to my neighbors is what counts.

Half the year has already passed. It’s a good time for me to look back, ask and learn. How much have/i grown spiritually? Where do I need to pay more attention? How much time have I spent with Jesus? How much have I invested in what He cares about? Where should I trust him more?

As we continue the next half of the year, may we set our minds on what really matters, the things above.

John Stumbo’s Message #48 also provides a good challenge and practical ideas on how to focus on the things above. You can check it out here:
